Meet Andreas
A proud democrat dedicated to leading Richmond forward
Andreas Addison is a public servant, small business owner, educator and, serving the Richmond community for more than 15 years. Since 2016, Andreas has served the 1st District on Richmond City Council, where he has a proven track record of fighting for affordable housing, greater connectivity in the region, and investments for better city services.
Andreas is committed to a socially equitable, environmentally sustainable, and prosperous city for working families – where we meet the needs of residents and not push them out. As Richmond’s next mayor, Andreas will use his experience and vision to make transformational investments rooted in racial, economic, and environmental justice to ensure our city reaches its full potential and no one is left behind.
My Policy Priorities
-
Housing costs are rising faster than incomes. We need innovative solutions to keep residents in their homes and foster economic development but not at your expense, especially for low-wage earners and seniors on fixed incomes. We need a new tax system to push the development of empty lots and vacant storefronts to grow our revenue without adding a burden on residents.
-
We made a plan for the future of the city in Richmond 300. It’s time to make that vision a reality by creating new job centers, bringing grocery stores to the Southside, and improving neighborhoods with parks, sidewalks, amenities, built around well-funded schools and after school programs.
-
We need a cultural change at City Hall to deliver high-quality services. My administration will prioritize technological upgrades, accessible and responsive services, and year-round community engagement. You should be able to access city services, find information, and pay bills easily and efficiently.

My “First 100 Days” as mayor will set the tone for improving City Hall's culture and building a stronger foundation for success. I’m ready to start on Day One.
